Social Media

Social networks connect people via online communities such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others. As with other technology, social networks have proper and improper uses. This policy is designed to help firm employees who use social networking understand what is recommended and required of them.

This policy is directed at and applies to all social networking sites currently in use, as well as any future such sites that may develop during the existence of MTM Wealth. This policy also covers any other chat rooms, blogs, video sites (e.g., YouTube) or online bulletin boards in which MTM Wealth employees may be involved.

MTM Wealth permits the usage of social media websites by its advisers and/or supervised persons for business purposes on the following outlets: Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn.

It has adopted the following policies and procedures concerning this usage:

 Ø  Social media site usage is considered correspondence and/or advertising by MTM Wealth;

Ø  Supervised persons are required to notify the CCO of their intention to utilize social media sites prior to usage;

Ø  Usage and posting to these sites must be monitored and approved by the firm’s CCO; and

Ø  MTM Wealth’s books and records policies on correspondence and advertising require that, as correspondence and/or advertising, social media usage and posts must be retained and archived.

Supervised persons of MTM Wealth using social media for personal purposes should follow the following procedures:

 

Ø  Notify the CCO of the social media outlets being used;

Ø  Follow MTM Wealth’s guidelines for personal use of Social Media in reference to any mention of MTM Wealth:

o   Limit any reference to MTM Wealth to title, location, contact information, and/or years of service;

o   Do not hold themselves out as representing MTM Wealth views in any way;

o   Do not post or otherwise comment regarding MTM Wealth business, clients, employees, policies or any other potentially confidential information;

o   Do not “chat” or otherwise communicate with clients or potential clients regarding any actual or potential investment advice; and

o   Prepare any posts or communications with care and professionalism and ensure they are appropriate in tone and content.

In addition, all staff members should never disclose personal information on any social media website that could allow a third party to gain access to MTM Wealth’s systems and passwords used for work equipment should not be drawn from any publicly posted information.

MTM Wealth will periodically monitor the internet, and specifically, social networking sites, for references to the firm by employees. All business-related posts or communications are subject to review and retention by MTM Wealth. Any violations of this policy will be handled accordingly.]

This policy will continue to evolve as new technologies and tools become available and as regulatory requirements change. Where no policy or guidance exists, or if uncertain, MTM Wealth employees should consult with their supervisor in order to avoid any potential violation.

Every supervised person should acknowledge and sign off on his or her reading and understanding of these policies.

Professional Designations

 Representatives of MTM Wealth may use professional designations if they refer to specific accredited certifications that would also be accepted by the Texas State Securities Board (TSSB) pursuant to section 116.16 - Use of Senior-Specific Certifications and Professional Designations.

 Allowed designations may be used in the representative’s Form ADV Part 2B, on his or her business cards, and/or on approved advertisements that have been reviewed and approved by MTM Wealth’s CCO. Specifically, MTM Wealth will allow the use of the following certifications by its representatives: CFA, CFP, PFS, CIC and ChFC.

The following policies govern the use of these designations:

Ø  Representatives desiring to use professional designations must request approval by the CCO prior to the use of any designation;

Ø  The CCO will be responsible for approving any designation requested to be used by a representative of MTM Wealth;

Ø  If a requested designation is not on MTM Wealth’s approved list, then it must meet the requirements of TSSB section 116.16; and

Ø  The CCO will review the certification to ensure it meets the requirement of TSSB section 116.16.
